Let’s talk about prints and printing your photos! Printing photos is not as common as it used to be because of how easy it is to download photos directly from your gallery onto your phone. But when you do decide to print photos, whether it be for a gift, a photo album, a Christmas card, etc, there are so many options to choose from. But mainly, you choice is this: drugstore print shop or high-quality print shop.
Today I want to talk about the pros and cons for each option, and hopefully, convince you to choose high quality so you can make the most of those beautiful photos you just received.

These are your Walgreens, CVS, Walmart etc. Printing places like these DO NOT have high quality printers. What I mean by this, is what used to be a high resolution image will possibly print blurry, pixelated, throw off colors and just all together produce an awful representation of your digital download. These prints are often not true to color and do not show the true quality of the image.
No hate to these places at all because they’re great for printing photos you’ve taken with your phone and super convenient if you’re needing fast and affordable prints, but not the best option for the professional photos you just spent money on! The pro to printing at stores like these is that it will cost less money, but the con of low-quality prints outweighs that fact in my mind.
These are your shops that are designed to test color, tonal range, and are able to handle high resolution images. Shops like these will produce products that best represent your digital download. High quality print shops are what I will always recommend to clients when they are wanting to print their photos. They might not be the most cost affective or fastest but is totally worth the investment!
Some shops I like to use are, Bayphoto, Mpix or Artifactuprising. So, the cons are that the print shops will most likely be a little pricier and it may take a bit longer to receive the prints because the shops aren’t local, but the pros of high quality, true to color photos is absolutely worth it.

As a reminder to my clients, whenever you download your photos and then re-uploading them to any printing service or any social media platform, the quality does start to deteriorate. If you’re interested in purchasing prints, I have high-quality print shops linked to my galleries for you to order prints, calendars, canvases, books, and albums to help eliminate this issue!
I hope I convinced you to opt for a higher-quality print service for those gorgeous photos. If you’re interested in booking a session with me, click here, and let’s chat! For more tips and inspiration, click here!
