Pros to Having a Second Photographer for Your Wedding Day

Hey there, fellow brides and grooms-to-be! Today, I wanted to chat about one of the best decisions you can make when it comes to planning your wedding photography: hiring a second photographer. Trust me when I say that the benefits are beyond worth it! I can’t stress enough how having another set of help on your special day can truly enhance the overall experience. From capturing behind the scenes to even just a different point of view, they are a huge help! So, let’s dive into some of the pros of having a second photographer for your wedding day.

First and foremost, having a second photographer allows me to capture those incredible behind-the-scenes moments. While I focus on the main action, they are able to document the candid moments happening on the sidelines.  Another major advantage is the ability to capture all the angles/reactions that I simply can’t get to on my own. Let’s face it, weddings are a whirlwind of emotions and moments that happen simultaneously. With a second photographer, we can divide and conquer to ensure that nothing is missed. This applies to the getting ready portion of the day as well. For example, in the wedding gallery below, I had a second shooter. One of the biggest helps was being able to split up! My second shooter was hanging out with the boys at their air bnb, while I was hanging out at the bride’s parents’ house where the girls got ready.

Lastly, one of my favorite pros of having a second photographer is that they can bring a fresh perspective to the table. They can provide different ideas, angles, and compositions that I may not have thought of. They are the perfect bouncing board for creative ideas and can help elevate your wedding photos to the next level. Another pro with that is the support and friendship they provide on your wedding day. Weddings can be stressful, and having someone there who has your back can make all the difference. Whether it’s calming nerves, offering a helping hand, or providing an encouraging word, a second photographer is there to support you throughout the day.
